Financing support for agricultural, forestry, and seafood businesses

MARBIDCO’s loan programs are designed to meet key financing needs for agricultural, forestry, or seafood businesses and often complement financing from private commercial lenders.

Loans can be used for land purchases, facilities construction or renovation, equipment acquisition, or working capital, and often leverage commercial lender funds.

In addition to Core Loan programs, MARBIDCO offers several Specialty Loan programs funded by partner organizations for targeted purposes.

Upper Shore Regional Council Farm Incentive Fund

Lending incentive grants for Upper Shore farmers

The Upper Shore Regional Council and MARBIDCO have partnered to offer an incentive program targeted to farmers in Cecil, Kent, and Queen Anne’s counties.

The program offers lending incentive grants with a 5% equity contribution towards eligible MARBIDCO loans, up to the maximum loan amount, depending on the program.

How to Apply for MARBIDCO Agribusiness Loan Programs

Requests for agribusiness loans and business planning assistance are made on a competitive basis. MARBIDCO’s financial experts can help applicants discover which program is best for their situation.

MARBIDCO’s Loan Review Committees are made up of individuals with experience in agricultural lending, rural development, and agriculture and resource-based business.

Ranking factors include the potential economic viability of the business enterprise relative to available resources, as well as the borrower’s creditworthiness.
